Craftsman’s Notes
Upon entering the home, the Japanese exchange their shoes for slippers. The shoes are stowed in a cabinet called a getabako. The same practice is followed in this home. Small benches are attached to the cabinet for seating during the footware exhange. The cabinet measures 32″x 35.5″ x 19″.
